Horton T. Cart is Art Dallas’s newest virtual employee. We named him after Dr. Seuss’s famous “good guy” character pictured here. In the story, Horton’s big ears help him hear the cries of a tiny society of Whos. Being a good guy, Horton helps the Whos “no matter how small” survive encounters with those who aren’t paying attention.

Our Horton is pictured below. As indicated, he’s actually a cart, loaded with computers, batteries, video recorders and large, diffuse photographic lighting that reveals the tiniest details of the art he’s viewing. Horton is the vehicle that lets us show you art using the proprietary, web-based computer architecture we’ve developed to show you and your associates our inventory in real time wherever you can connect to the internet.  Horton was created to significantly reduce the need to actually be in Dallas to work with Art Dallas.

Horton’s high-quality (HD) imagery coupled with his mobility and independence means you can actually SEE the art we have in stock anywhere in the gallery. You can evaluate it’s scale and make preliminary decisions about color, content and texture. Similarly with framing, Horton brings you into our design room where, from the comfort of your desk, you can select framing options. With Horton’s help, you can make your initial selections of both art and framing without traveling anywhere. Immediately after our “meeting”, we’ll put still photos of the art and framing you’ve selected onto your secure site on our network so you and anyone else that needs to see them can review them on line. After you’ve had a chance to review your selections on line, we’ll send the originals to you on approval.

Horton works with a multi-point, web-based communications system we’ve developed so that regardless of where you are, if you’ve got a web browser, you can interact bi-directionally with anyone you think needs to be involved in the discussion. Horton can talk with anyone with an internet connection anywhere in the world. This flexible system can host high quality, multi-member viewings when none of the attendees are anywhere near Dallas.
