What We Do:
Our Mission: Art Dallas, Inc. provides art and framing services to the design trade. Our goal is to provide the best, most complete service at the best possible price. Our obligation and loyalty is to design professionals responsible for the selection and installation of art in commercial and hospitality projects all over the world.

The Gallery at Art Dallas, Inc. is a recently renovated 8000 ft. showroom in the Dallas Design District.  It is a commercial, working gallery  with lots of table space. This allows our designers to "spread out", facilitating the design of more than one project at a time.



The balance of this converted 50,000 ft. warehouse located conveniently near Downtown Dallas is devoted to Custom and Production Framing, Print-making, Crating, Shipping and Administrative Functions.

Custom Picture Framing:
If it's in a Hard Rock Cafe anywhere in the world, Art Dallas probably put it there.  What this means is that we are used to dealing with large numbers of pieces, all different, with several jobs in the works at once. Our custom picture framing facility has the technology and organizational expertise to do very complex, very high-end framing jobs on a budget.

Production Picture Framing:
A separate and distinct entity, the production framing facility at Art Dallas has the capacity to produce multiple, high quality copies of the same item efficiently and extremely affordably.  The production framing facility has the latest in automated picture framing equipment, including computerized mat cutters, automated joiners and pneumatically driven saws.  The production facility produces art, mail order inventory and other high volume framed art on a real budget. 

Original Art & Consignment Pieces:
Art Dallas maintains an inventory of THOUSANDS of pieces of ORIGINAL ART representing the widest possible range of styles and media.  Art Dallas has access to every major supplier of Original Artwork in service to the design trade.  Also, we work closely with many recognized fine artists to produce original consignment pieces in a wide variety of styles.  In addition to original works of art, Art Dallas has wholesale access to all of the sources of printed art available in today's market. 

Custom Prints:
Always innovative, Art Dallas has led the way in opening up new options for designers.  Art Dallas has spent years refining the hardware, software, media and inks for its digital printing process.  This has made it economically and technically possible for designers to specify totally custom art for their hospitality projects using images derived either from Art Dallas' own image database or our client's publishable collection.

Crating & Shipping:
Art Dallas controls all aspects of the packaging, crating and shipping process.  Product from Art Dallas is:

    1. Packed properly
    2. Crated professionally 
    3. Labeled clearly and
    4. Inventoried accurately.

When Art Dallas does the art for a project it arrives intact, on time and organized in a way that minimizes the cost of installation.We never lose sight of the capabilities and limitations of the destination facility. We design our packaging so that unpacking is quick and installation is fast and inexpensive.

Why We Are Different:
Woman/Minority Owned Corporation - Art Dallas has obtained national certification as a Woman and Minority owned business. Many of our clients find this certification useful for fulfilling Federal, State and Local diversity requirements associated with such things as project financing. In addition, we are a family-owned business. When you deal with Art Dallas, you have direct access to an owner of the company whose sole interest is your satisfaction.

Skills - The principals and employees of Art Dallas combine a truly unique range of skills and training.  From welding to printmaking to advanced computer programming and other technology, there's a professional at Art Dallas working on making our service better, more efficient and wider ranging. In addition, most of the personnel assisting designers with their art selections at Art Dallas are designers themselves, so they not only understand the art and how to present it, but they have the special training to understand "the big picture" of the total project.

Vertical Integration - Everything at Art Dallas is done "in house."  We are a fully integrated company.  We do not outsource functions such as framing, crating, shipping and printing.  By keeping these functions in house, we retain better control of quality, reliability and value.

Experience - In 20 years of service to the design industry, we have learned such things as the peculiar problems associated with shipping huge picture frames to the Big Island of Hawaii and over 3 tons of framed Rock & Roll memoribilia to Beijing.  We know when a large mirror needs a full length aluminum cleat and exactly what extrusion to use for that installation.  We know our business.

Success - We have been successful.  So now we are strong enough to be flexible.  Need a place to stash a hotel full of art for a few weeks?  We've got it.  Need a floor of your hotel RIGHT NOW? We can do that.  Our job is to work with designers, purchasing agents and owners to make the final stages of their project go as smoothly as possible.  We're in business to serve our clients and we're strong enough to do it in ways other companies aren't.


Physical Plant:
Our Gallery
The Gallery is a contemporary open-space design, containing employee workspaces, large work tables for our clients as well as storage areas for our extensive collection of original art. Frame and and Mat samples are in a separate open design space adjacent to Gallery Floor. Art Dallas is in the process of acquiring additional gallery space in an adjacent building for special events such as single-artist shows, juried competitions and all the other functions associated with traditional fine-art galleries.
 
Administrative Offices & Production
The administrative offices of Art Dallas, and the production areas are contiguous with the gallery and occupy the balance of the approximately 50,000 sq. ft. facility that is Art Dallas. Production is divided into two areas with two separate workforces. Volume production is accomplished in about 12000 ft. with fully automated production tools. The Volume Production Facility has a capacity of about 600 pieces in a single 8-hour shift. Custom production is accomplished in about 9000 sq. ft. with more traditional picture-framing tools, materials and techniques. Having two separate workforces in the two facilities assures the highest, most consistent quality in the industry. The balance of the facility is allocated to administrative offices, areas for crating, a complete woodshop, a "clean" print room consisting of 8 large-format printers and another "clean room" housing the computerized mat cutters. Additional gallery, office and creative spaces will become available with the acquisition of our new facility in late 2007.
